LSCO Quiz Bowl Team
The purpose of the LSCO Quiz Bowl team is to represent Lamar State College Orange
in academic quiz bowl competition. LSCO Quiz Bowl was founded in 2007, and in the
years since, the team has qualified for the NAQT Community College Championship Tournament
on seven different occasions, finishing 3rd in 2013 and 7th in 2021 and 2022.
The LSCO Quiz Bowl Team is seeking new members for the 2024-2025 season. Quiz Bowl
is a game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas
of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports,
and popular culture. Over the past ten years, the LSCO Quiz Bowl team has traveled
(at college expense) to tournaments in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Missouri,
Illinois, and Tennessee. If you plan to be at LSCO through at least the Spring 2025
semester, have a minimum 2.0 grade point average, and might be interested, please
consider attending a practice session and giving Quiz Bowl a try! Participation in
Quiz Bowl is an excellent addition to your resume as you seek jobs in your fields
or future educational opportunities. Scholarships are available.
Practice sessions during Fall 2024 will be held on Tuesdays at 2:30 pm in the Academic
Center (AC), Room 124.
