The Gator family has outdone themselves again and it was all in the name of serving the community.

Lamar State College Orange volunteered to participate in the United Way of Orange County’s Week of Caring – an annual event that includes helping people and organizations in need across the county.

Under the leadership of Patty Collins, Executive Director of College Affairs, the campus set a goal to raise money and collect items to fill 30 Homeless Survival Backpacks for the Salvation Army.

Because the Gator family always goes above and beyond, LSCO was able to deliver 64 backpacks stuffed full of personal care items, snacks, bottled water, and much more to Captain Jan Zuniga of the Salvation Army.

This would not have been possible without LSCO faculty, staff, and students coming together to lovingly donate money and items and work to pack the backpacks to help those in need in our community.
