Summer 2026 Commencement Ceremony

Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) celebrated its Summer 2026 Commencement Ceremonies on August 13 and 14, honoring graduates whose achievements reflected determination, perseverance and a commitment to reaching their educational and career goals.

The first ceremony was held Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Polk County Commerce Center in Livingston, followed by a second ceremony on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the G&G Enterprises Arena in West Orange. Family members, friends, faculty, staff and community leaders gathered at both locations to recognize the accomplishments of LSCO graduates as they crossed the stage and received their degrees and certificates.

Degrees and certificates were conferred by LSCO President Dr. Wendy Elmore. The ceremonies highlighted the college’s continued commitment to student success, workforce preparation and expanding access to higher education throughout Southeast Texas.

“Commencement is one of the most meaningful traditions in higher education because it celebrates the determination, resilience and hard work of our students,” Dr. Elmore said. “Each graduate has overcome challenges and achieved a significant milestone. We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and excited to see the impact they will make in their communities, careers and future educational pursuits.”

Graduates represented a variety of academic and workforce programs, including health sciences, industrial and technical training, business, public service and general academic transfer pathways. Their success reflected LSCO’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education designed to meet both regional workforce demands and transfer opportunities.

Alicia Lloyd, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success, said the graduating class demonstrated the value of dedication and lifelong learning.

“Our graduates' achievements are a testament to their commitment to learning and to the support provided by faculty, staff and families throughout their educational journey,” Lloyd said.

The commencement ceremonies also underscored LSCO’s continued growth and investment in student success. Through expanding academic programs, workforce training opportunities and student support services, the college remains focused on helping students achieve meaningful careers and continued educational advancement.

As graduates celebrated this important milestone, LSCO reaffirmed its commitment to serving Southeast Texas through innovative programs, strong community partnerships and a student-centered approach to higher education.
