ACPE Accredited IV Training
Lamar State College Orange's Community and Workforce Education Department offers a Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique certification course by The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). This nationally recognized continuing pharmacy education (CPE) certification course is designed to train Certified Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists on the topic of sterile product preparation that meets the USP Chapter & Texas State Board of Pharmacy practice standards.
Tuition and Fees

Required Textbook:
Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique: 2nd Edition, by Lisa McCartney & Brenda Jensen.

Course Outline
- Students will be trained in a 40 hour ACPE approved course that presents concepts of sterile compounding.
- The course consists of 12 hours of didactic education, 8 hours of dedicated testing time and a minimum of 20 hours of experiental (hands-on) skils training.
- Students must demonstrate knowledge and skills of at least 75% on all four final examinations and 100% on the I.V. process validation.
The coursework consists of classroom lectures, weekly reqading assignments, video presentations and exams will be found on blackboard located through the "My Gator" student portal.
The MANDATORY two day hands-on training will occur in the AHB (Allied Health Building) 107 only on the dates listed for your enrolled course
After Successful Completion
Nationally recognized Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique Certificate and a statement of credit for 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) of ACPE accredited continuing education.

Location and Live (Hands-On) Instruction Time:
Live (Hands-On) Component Training will be held at Lamar State College Orange in the Allied Health Building Room 107. Each class time will be held on Friday and Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm. Students must attend both days. Students must be in appropriate attire for sterile compounding. Email jennifer.fabriguze@lsco.edu for more details about proper dress.
