Distance Education - Proctoring

Lamar State College Orange is proud to offer online students the opportunity to take their exams at home by using Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor which ensures the academic integrity of the exam for the institution. This proctoring service allows students to complete their assessment at any location with a web cam, microphone, computer, and reliable internet access. There are no fees associated with this service.

Respondus Lockdown Browser is a custom web browser that prevents students from accessing unauthorized resources during online exams. This browser creates a controlled testing environment by disabling features such as copying, printing, taking screenshots, or accessing other applications or websites. 

Respondus Monitor is a webcam feature that records students during online exams. When this feature is enabled for a test, students are required to use a webcam with Lockdown Browser.
