LSCO Names Kristin Walker Assistant Vice President of Statewide Partnerships

Kristin Walker was recently promoted from Executive Director of Texas State University System- Polk County (TSUS-PCC) to Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Statewide Partnerships. She will provide leadership to the Polk County Center where Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) offers various programs as well as leading LSCO’s partnerships with both the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
In her previous position, Walker represented Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College Port Arthur, and Lamar State College Orange throughout Polk County. She kept all three colleges up to date on the needs of the surrounding community and the center and coordinated each college’s course schedules. She established a social media presence and branding package for the PCC, helping to ensure students' experiences were of the utmost importance. This is just a small glimpse into all that she accomplished as Executive Director of TSUS-PCC.
As she steps into the role of AVP, Walker will continue to represent LSCO at the PCC. She will be a key player in LSCO’s partnerships with the TDCJ, TJJD, and other state agencies within the TSUS system. She has a plethora of experience in collaborative work and will continue to be a driving force in LSCO and its affiliations.
Walker is passionate about serving college students and the community as a whole. She looks to this job title as a chance to provide opportunities for students. She is passionate about growth and developing the future workforce.
