Greater Orange-Area Chamber of Commerce Names Student, Employee of The Semester at LSCO

ORANGE, TX – The Greater Orange-Area Chamber of Commerce, along with their Ambassadors and the staff of Lamar State College Orange, named LSCO’s Student and Employee of the Semester recently.
Jessica Butchee, of Buna, TX, was named the Greater Orange-Area Chamber of Commerce Student of the Semester and received a $250 scholarship. Jessica earned a spot on the Fall 2021 President’s List with a 4.0 grade point average and is a natural leader amongst her peers.
“Jessica literally claps and cheers for her classmates and radiates positivity in the classroom. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is included and feels important. As our student organization president, she has great leadership skills and uses them to make a difference on- and off-campus,” said Colleen Baker, Program Director, Dental Assisting.
Stephanie Jones was named the Greater Orange-Area Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Semester. Stephanie has worked at Lamar State College Orange for almost 22 years. She serves as Executive Assistant to the President. Her colleagues say, “Stephanie embodies the best of Lamar State College Orange. She is always friendly, professional, and efficient. Her genuine warmth and pride in LSCO are consistently evident in her correspondence and interaction with faculty and staff. She makes Lamar State College Orange a better place to work.” President Tom Johnson stated that Stephanie “is the first to volunteer to help others, and is always taking care of the little details that ensure my office and events on our campus run smoothly.”
