Meet the 2025 LSCO Student Ambassadors

The Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) Ambassador Scholarship awards recipients with a full year’s tuition, networking opportunities, and leadership growth. Applicants must meet prestigious requirements, one of which includes being in the top 25% of their graduating class. To be considered, students must apply, submit an essay, provide a letter of recommendation, and interview with the Ambassador Committee. The duties of an ambassador range from working campus-wide events to participating in community service initiatives as a representative of LSCO.

Ava Rambo: Ava is a Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School graduate. She dreams of becoming a nurse practitioner and is excited to continue taking steps towards success in this field through both her education and by taking advantage of hands-on opportunities. She is determined to earn an associate degree in nursing at LSCO. Her passion for serving others and drive to accomplish her goals will be an invaluable asset to the ambassador program.
Darian Sandlin: Darian graduated from a homeschooling program where she had the opportunity to begin taking classes on LSCO’s campus. She wants to eventually become a labor and delivery nurse, a passion she has held for many years. She will pursue a vocational nursing degree at LSCO. Her desire to get involved on campus and strong work ethic will be a great benefit to her role as an ambassador.
HeavenLeigh Hughes: HeavenLeigh is a Lumberton High School graduate. She is passionate about helping others and wants to utilize this to pursue a career in either musical therapy or athletic training. An education at LSCO will help her reach this goal as she pursues an associate degree in liberal arts to further her path towards a career. Her love of education and passion for helping others will make her a great contributor to campus life.
Isabella Houston: Isabella is a graduate of Bridge City High School. She deeply values making a positive impact on the lives of others and wants to do so as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse. She wants to pursue education at LSCO that would allow her to first become a licensed vocational nurse and then a registered nurse. Her self-starter attitude and desire to be a dedicated leader make her an excellent addition to the ambassador program.
Jaycee Taylor: Jaycee graduated from Bride City High School. She is a hard worker with a desire to succeed professionally. She wants to utilize her dedication to perform well in classes and beyond, and she will major in business at LSCO. Her determination and drive for success will make her an outstanding leader on campus.
Karol Martinez Raya: Karol is a graduate of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. She is passionate about the nursing profession and will pursue a vocational nursing degree from LSCO. She wants to grow as a leader and step into service roles when given the opportunity. Her desire to serve others and be actively involved in campus life will make her a great asset to LSCO.
Reid Burman: Reid graduated from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. He is a self-motivated individual with goals of working in business marketing and eventually creating his own business. He values embracing others as they are and wants to help others feel valued and reach their potential through ambition and hard work. He will major in business at LSCO, helping him reach his goal of stepping into the field as a career. His ambition and commitment to embracing others will make him a valuable ambassador.
Zoe Hunteman: Zoe is a Vidor High School graduate. She is passionate about both education and agriculture and hopes to combine the two to become an agriculture teacher and a Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor. She wants to pursue a teaching degree during her time at LSCO. Her desire to get involved within the community and to be a dedicated leader will be a meaningful part of the ambassador program.
