NCCT Certification

The National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) validates the competence of candidates by examination. The certification provides recognition of competence to individuals who meet specified criteria and qualifications. Lamar State College Orange students/graduates of the Phlebotomy program are eligible to sit for the Phelbotomy Technician exam.  The following exams are also available to qualified candidates:  Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, ECG Technician, Surgical Technology, Insurance & Coding Specialist, Patient Care Technician, and Postsecondary Instructor.  

Applications for testing or rescheduling must be received by NCCT a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the requested test date.

In preparing for the exam, candidates should review the Content Outline and Test Grid available at www.ncctinc.com under the Get Certified tab. Optional practice tests and review books are available for purchase from NCCT for a fee. They are not required for any exam.

Applicants qualify for student fee if currently in school or graduated within the last 6 months.

Exam Fee: $119
Tech in Surgery Fee: $199

August 7, 2024 - 1 p.m.

September 11, 2024 - 1 p.m.

October 16, 2024 - 1 p.m.

November 6, 2024 - 1 p.m.

December 4, 2024 - 1 p.m.

All test dates are on a Wednesday. Sessions are 3 hours long, beginning at 1 PM on each date. Dates are subject to change and availability.
