Criminal Justice Society Programs
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently evaluated the Criminal Justice Program at Lamar State College Orange and gave the program a near-exemplary rating. In April 2003 the Criminal Justice Program director, Dr. John Edward Coratti, and the administration at Lamar State College Orange entered into an agreement with the United States Navy involving a new criminal justice associate degree. This degree is called the Master-at-Arms Option Degree. Another exciting development for the Criminal Justice program is the offering of a basic jail course every spring semester. This course will lead to TCLEOSE jailer certification. Also, Dr. Coratti has developed a forensic science institutional award. A criminal justice co-op class, which leads to practical experience at various criminal justice agencies, is also offered. Finally, there are many other exciting court course offerings leading to fascinating criminal justice careers. The Criminal Justice Society invites anyone interested to join our ranks and become a member of the Lamar State College Orange community. The Criminal Justice Program at Lamar State College Orange has articulation agreements with the following institutions: Lamar University, The University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Wesleyan University.
