Criminal Justice Society
Most students have a misconception that being a criminal justice major only applies to jobs like being a police officer, correctional officer, or a lawyer. This assumption is wrong! With a degree or certificate in criminal justice a person can obtain many different types of jobs, with many opportunities for advancement, and will be a valuable asset in the years to come.
Here are just a few examples:
- Criminal Investigator
- Adult/Juvenile Probation Officer
- Game Warden
- State Trooper
- Federal Agent
- Forensic Specialists
- Adult/Juvenile Parole Officer
- Victim Witness Coordinator
- Evidence Specialists
The Criminal Justice Society is an organization of students and alumni who have similar interests in the criminal justice field that volunteer and participate in local events within the community. The events and activities that the CJS participate in provide a rewarding and memorable experience to its members and those individuals it serves. Examples: Cops and Kids Picnic, Blue Santa, Lions Club Carnival, Special Angel Rodeo, LSCO Student Appreciation Day, LSCO Octoberfest, Angola Prison Rodeo, Orange Christmas Parade, Art in the Park, and LSCO Spring Day.
The students here at LSCO have developed amazing friendship and have grown so much as individuals. The CJ Program and Society put in a lot of hard work, but the great thing about it is that it never feels like work. Between volunteering at local events and going on amazing trips, it is all so rewarding. I urge anyone who is remotely interested to go ahead and become involved with the Criminal Justice Society here at LSCO.
So join us today for a fun and unforgettable time!
