Letter from Title IX Coordinator
Dear Gators,
Lamar State College Orange is committed to creating and maintaining an educational
community and working environment in which each individual is respected, appreciated,
and valued. We are dedicated to providing an educational and working environment
free from sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence,
domestic violence, and stalking for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
I currently serve as the Title IX coordinator for LSCO. The coordinator is responsible
for coordinating efforts to comply with and implement the Texas State University System
(TSUS) Sexual Misconduct Policy. The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for conducting
the administrative investigation of reports of Sexual Misconduct and is available
to discuss options, provide support, explain policy and procedures, and provide education
on relevant issues. Other members of our LSCO Title IX team include, Mr. Joey Hargrave,
Deputy Coordinator and Lead Investigator, Mrs. Lora Rives, Deputy Coordinator, and
Ms. Alicia Lloyd, Deputy Coordinator and Investigator.
It is a federal requirement to train the entire campus community about promoting awareness
of sexual offenses, and risk reduction strategies to enable community members to take
a role in preventing and interrupting incidents of sexual misconduct.
Faculty, Staff, and new and transfer students are required to attend the LSCO provided training module(s) for recognizing and preventing
sexual misconduct on our campus.
In the next few days, if you are a new or transfer student, you will receive an email with a link to the training platform. Thank you in advance for participating in the mandatory training designed to assist us in recognizing, responding to, and preventing sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
We look forward to working with the entire campus in our ongoing Title IX education and compliance efforts. If you have any questions concerning Title IX, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Patty Collins
