Cosmetology Frequently Asked Questions
Upon completing the Lamar State College Orange Dual Credit Cosmetology Program, students
will be prepared to sit for the state licensure exam and work in a salon.
Students will be eligible to sit for the TDLR licensure exam.
High School faculty credentialed by LSCO provides course instructors.
The curriculum is provided by LSCO and consists of materials located in the Blackboard
Learning Management System and hands-on lab activities.
Students attend regularly scheduled classes Monday – Friday.
Classes are held in a face-to-face format at the high school campus.

State law requires that students under the age of 22 who will attend classes on a
GC campus must provide documentation of a meningococcal vaccination within the previous
5 years or a conscientious objection waiver. Students will not be enrolled without
this documentation.
