Automotive Technology at Lamar State College Orange

The Automotive Technology program is designed to prepare students for an entry-level employment in the high technology automotive service industry. Students will gain knowledge in automotive electrical/electronic systems, climate control systems, compression ignition engines and fuel systems, brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and drive train and axles. Hands-on learning in the labs will be emphasized to develop troubleshooting skills, as well as diagnostic and repair procedures.

Graduates of the Automotive Technology program are typically placed in independent garages, specialty automotive repair facilities, and dealerships. Each award stacks and completed course can be applied towards the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology Management.
