Mid-Semester Appreciation

Dear Gator family –
As we reach the midpoint of the spring semester, I want to take a moment to pause
and say thank you and encourage you keep up the GREAT WORK! Every day, I see the dedication,
professionalism, and heart that you bring to your work. Whether you are teaching in
the classroom, supporting students in advising and student services, maintaining our
facilities, or working behind the scenes to keep our institution running smoothly,
your efforts make an extraordinary difference for the more than 5,900 students throughout
Texas who have chosen Lamar State College Orange.
Mid-semester is often the busiest and most demanding stretch of the academic year.
The first 8-week term is coming to an end and planning for the next term is upon us.
Assignments are intensifying, exams are approaching, and students are balancing school,
work, and family responsibilities. During this time, your encouragement, guidance,
and commitment help our students stay focused and continue moving forward toward their
goals. Because of you, our students become the finishers we are so proud to celebrate.
I also want you to know that our administrative team is here to support you as we
move toward the finish line of the spring semester. We recognize the workload and
energy that this time of year requires, and we are committed to ensuring you have
the support, resources, and encouragement you need to finish the semester strong.
When our faculty and staff succeed, our students thrive.
The momentum at Lamar State College Orange continues to be remarkable. Our enrollment
growth, expanding programs, and strong partnerships across Texas reflect the important
role that our institution plays in preparing students to transfer to a university
or to begin their careers in healthcare, industry, education, and public service.
Each one of you contributes directly to that impact in very meaningful ways.
As we move into the second half of the semester, let’s continue working together and
moving Full Speed Ahead, supporting our students, supporting one another, and staying
focused on the mission that brings us here each day. Thank you for the passion and
dedication you bring to Lamar State College Orange. Together, we will help our students
cross the finish line this semester and continue building a brighter future for our
