CARES Act Posting Requirements March 2022
The following information is posted in accordance with Section 314€ of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 and in accordance with 2 CFR 200.328 and 2 CFR 200.329 for the American Rescue Plan Act, 2021.
CRRSAA Funding
- LSCO developed an online application that allowed students to apply for the CRRSAA
funds.
- Students were required to submit a completed application to be considered.
- Applications were available until April 30, 2021.
- Students were notified via LSCO student email of their award status.
- Students received either a check or a direct deposit for the award.
- Awards were issued May 11, 2021.
- A total of 303 students were awarded.
- Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) signed and returned to the Department of Education, the Certification and Agreement statement.
- LSCO received $521,660 from the Department of Education pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
- Disbursement details are as follows:
- The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act as of June 30, 2021 was $521,660.
- The Institutional portion of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations
Act funded additional Emergency Financial Aid Grants as scholarships for both Summer
2021 and Fall 2021.
- As of June 30, 2021, a total of $231,285 has been awarded as additional scholarships to students to assist with the cost of tuition and fees.
- As of September 30, 2021, a total of $948,666 has been awarded as additional scholarships to students to assist with the cost of tuition and fees.
- As of December 31, 2021, a total of $956,472 has been awarded as additional scholarships to students to assist with the cost of tuition and fees.
- As of December 31, 2021, a total of $141,248.55 has been utilized to forgive past due debt for students from semesters that were impacted by COVID-19.
- As of March 31, 2022, a total of $187,574.41 has been utilized to forgive past due debt for students from semesters that were impacted by COVID-19.
- The method used by LSCO to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid
Grants and how much they would receive under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental
Appropriations Act is based on the following:
- Distribution of emergency aid funds will be considered for LSCO students that:
- Have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus activities due to COVID-19;
- Are enrolled at LSCO during the Spring 2021 semester;
- Submit an online application by the deadline
- COVID-19 Emergency Aid Amounts
- Awards were issued on first come first serve basis.
- The estimated minimum award amount was $500.
- Actual total award amount totaled $1,721.65.
- As of July 10, 2021 there are no remaining funds.
- Distribution of emergency aid funds will be considered for LSCO students that:
ARP Funding
- For Fall 2021, enrolled students were awarded half of the ARP funds based on exceptional
need if they were still enrolled as of census date after the 8-week II term began.
- Students were notified via LSCO student text messaging.
- Students received either a check or a direct deposit for the award.
- Awards were issued November 16, 2021.
- A total of 1426 students were awarded.
- Each student was awarded $723.
- Additional funding that remains will go out in a future semester.
- Any uncashed checks as of March 23, 2022 were revoked and placed back into the funds available for the Spring Semester
- The remainder of the awarded ARP funds will be distributed to all students that were
still enrolled in Spring 2022 as of census date after the 8-week II term began.
- Students will be notified via LSCO student text messaging.
- Students will receive either a check or a direct deposit for the award.
- Awards will be issued during April, 2022.
- An estimated total of 1200 students will be awarded.
- Each student will be awarded an estimated $850.
- Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) signed and returned to the Department of Education, the Certification and Agreement statement.
- LSCO received $2,061,569 from the Department of Education pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the American Rescue Plan Act.
- Disbursement details are as follows:
- The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the American Rescue Plan Act as of December 31, 2021 was $1,030,998.
- The Institutional portion of the American Rescue Plans Act will be expensed as awards
to students during the Summer term as Emergency Financial Aid Grants.
- Lamar State College Orange will assist students by covering tuition and fees for up to six semester credit hours
- Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis
- Students must register for courses and complete an acknowledgement form in order to be considered
- The method used by LSCO to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid
Grants and how much they would receive under the American Rescue Plan Act is based
on the following:
- Distribution of emergency aid funds will be considered for LSCO students that:
- Have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus activities due to COVID-19;
- Are enrolled at LSCO during the Fall 2021 semester as of the last census date or the Spring 2022 semester as of the last census date
- COVID-19 Emergency Aid Amounts
- Actual total award amount totaled $723.00 per student for Fall 2021.
- As of December 31, 2021 there are $1,030,571 remaining funds for future use.
- As of March 31, 2021 there are $1,042,139 remaining funds for future use.
