Scholarships are available through the LSCO Financial Aid Office and various other sources. Possible sources include, but are not limited to, organizations within the community, foundations, corporations, the parents' and/or the student's employer, churches, fraternities, sororities, and various non-profit organizations. Information concerning scholarship sources can be found through numerous publications available in the library, via the Internet, and by contacting the student's high school counselor.

Texas State University System Foundation Scholarships
Edmund P. Kuempel Scholarship Program
The Edmund P. Kuempel Scholarship Program provides $5,000 grants to undergraduate
students based on academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to public or
community service. The scholarship honors Edmund R. Kuempel (1942-2010), a member
of the Texas House of Representatives for nearly 30 years. Students in any associate
or baccalaureate degree program at any TSUS member institution can apply to receive
financial assistance to pay for tuition, required fees, living expenses and educational
materials.

Institutional Scholarships
Ambassador Scholarship
This scholarship is available to first time freshman who recently graduated high school in the top 25% of their class. Students must be residents of Texas or Louisiana and enrolled full-time at Lamar State College Orange (LSCO). Selected students must maintain full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Ambassador scholars receive full tuition for one year, up to 15 hours per semester, worth up to $4,000 for one year.
General Scholarships
Betty Joe Spence Scholarship
This scholarship is available to one student enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours) and seeking a degree in Liberal Arts. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Chevron Phillips Scholarship
This scholarship is available to first time freshman who recently graduated from an Orange County, TX high school as well as non-traditional students. A recipient from each Orange County high school will be selected. First-time freshmen must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and non-traditional students a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Recipients must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a degree or certificate in fields related to petrochemical technology such as Process Operating Technology; Industrial Technology; Instrumentation; Safety, Health, and Environmental Technology; or Mechatronics. This scholarship is good for one academic year, students will need to submit a new application each academic year to apply and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Electromechanical / Cloeren, Inc Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students in good standing in accordance with current institutional policies (cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better), who are enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per long semester and pursuing a certificate or degree in the Electromechanical Technology program. Students in the FAME program must be employed with Cloeren to be eligible for this scholarship. Students should submit a new scholarship application every academic year to apply.
Don & Claire Marshall Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to new and returning students in good standing in accordance with current institutional policies (cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better). Students should submit a new scholarship application every academic year to apply.
Donald T. Boumans Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students enrolled in at least six (6) semester credit hours in a long semester at Lamar State College Orange and seeking a certificate or degree in Process Technology or Business Management. Priority consideration is given to students enrolled in the Process Technology Program first and then those enrolled in Business Management. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
The Ice Cream Shack, LLC in Memory of Shanna Janeaux Scholarship
This scholarship is available to regular and dual credit students enrolled at LSCO. Regular students and returning dual credit students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

Invista Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours), or if employed full-time, enrolled in at least six (6) semester credit hours in a long semester at Lamar State College Orange. A recipient of this scholarship must be a resident of Orange County, TX and pursuing a certificate or degree in Industrial/Process Technology; Welding; Business Management; Safety, Health, and Environmental, Computer Science, Emergency Medical Services, or Nursing. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Orange Jaycees Scholarship
This scholarship is available to residents of Orange County, TX enrolled full-time (12 or more semester credit hours) in the Associate of Arts Teaching (AAT) program. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Rita Hon and Ruth Bass Hollenbeck Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time (12 or more semester credit hours) in the Associate of Arts Teaching (AAT) program. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Sabine Federal Credit Union Scholarship
This scholarship is available to members of the Sabine Federal Credit Union enrolled at Lamar State College Orange. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Lamar State College Orange Foundation Scholarships
The Lamar State College Orange Foundation provides scholarship assistance to students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements. In addition to the general scholarship fund, the foundation has endowed programs designed for specific purposes:
Del Papa Centennial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit) hours at Lamar State College Orange majoring in business, marketing, or related field. Recent high school graduates must have a high school GPA of at least a 3.0. All other students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Students must apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Foundation (Dual Credit) Scholarship
This scholarship is available to dual credit students who are required to pay tuition and fees at LSCO. Returning dual credit students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and apply every academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Foundation (General) Scholarship
The scholarship is available to new and returning students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours) at LSCO. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Hulda and Carroll B. Shaddock, Jr., MD Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship fund is established by Mr. Bill Shaddock to honor and perpetuate the memory of his mother and father, for students who are residents of Orange County and enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) at Lamar State College Orange. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Master Gardener Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students enrolled at Lamar State College Orange. This is a need-based scholarship which means the student must have need as determined by the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Orange County Board of Realtors
This scholarship is for students living in Orange County, TX who are attending Lamar State College Orange. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Orange Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is for students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours) in health-related fields such as nursing, dental assisting, pharmacy technology, medical office professional, medical office assistant and natural science at LSCO. Students must be current residents of Orange County, TX or former residents of Orange County, TX who graduated from an Orange County, TX public or private high school. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
The Tony Houseman Scholarship
This scholarship is for students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours) majoring in business or a related field at LSCO. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
President’s Scholarship
This scholarship is for first-time freshmen who recently graduated from one of the Orange County, TX high schools. Students must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5 but only the student with the highest GPA from each school will be selected.
Womack Scholarship
This scholarship is for first-time freshmen who recently graduated from one of the Orange County, TX high schools and enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours) at LSCO. Students must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5.
Stark Foundation Scholarships
Lutcher Stark Scholarship
This scholarship focuses on students majoring in industrial arts and similar business, economic-related studies, or education fields of study at LSCO. Students must be enrolled full-time (12 or more semester credit hours) during a fall or spring semester and six (6) semester credit hours for a summer semester unless employed full-time. Students with full-time employment must be enrolled for at least six (6) semester credit hours for a fall or spring semester or three (3) semester credit hours for a summer semester. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
Nelda C. Stark Scholarship
This scholarship focuses on students majoring in allied health and similar medical, health, nursing, or science-related fields of study. Students must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) semester credit hours or ten (10) semester credit hours for nursing for a fall or spring semester and six (6) semester credit hours for a summer semester unless employed full-time. Students with full-time employment must be enrolled for at least six (6) semester credit hours for a fall or spring semester or three (3) semester credit hours for a summer semester. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.

This scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time (12 semester credit hours). Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.

This scholarship is available to new or returning students in good academic standing that enroll in at least six (6) semester credit hours during the semester and submit the required application and essay. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.

Kevin Hanks Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor and perpetuate his memory and is for new or returning students in good academic standing that enroll in at least six (6) credit hours during the semester and submit the required application and essay. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and apply each academic year to be considered for this scholarship.
