About This Partnership

Lamar State College Orange and Stephen F. Austin State University have maintained an articulation agreement since 2019 that guarantees credits earned at LSCO will seamlessly transfer to SFA. The agreement was reaffirmed in 2022, with both institutions' presidents meeting at LSCO’s campus alongside local school district leaders to reinforce the partnership’s value for all of Southeast Texas.

This agreement also extends to dual credit students — high school students earning college credit through LSCO can count on those courses transferring directly to SFA, creating an efficient pathway from high school to a bachelor’s degree.

Why SFA?

  • Over 80 undergraduate majors and 120 areas of study across six colleges
  • Strong programs in forestry, education, business, fine arts, and sciences
  • Beautiful, wooded campus with an engaged student community
