The Lifeguards! program is a great way to enhance your student success experience at Lamar State College Orange. Our program matches LSCO students with volunteer faculty and staff mentors to help:
- Achieve academic excellence and belonging at LSCO.
- Encourage students to embrace college life, while recognizing the importance of overcoming various demands to successfully pursue their goals.
- Develop a student’s path to success and increase their knowledge about the resources at LSCO and in the professional environment.
Each Fall and Spring semester, the Lifeguards! program seeks interested faculty and staff who wish to be mentors and students who may benefit from this initiative as a mentee.
- A Mentor - A person who provides academic, professional, and personal support.
- A Mentee - A person who benefits from the insight, guidance, and support of a Mentor.
The Lifeguards! program provides training, workshops, guest speakers, and an interactive support network that provides an engaging and enjoyable experience.
Mentor and mentee assignments are limited on a first-come basis.
