Electrical Technology at Lamar State College Orange
The Electrical Technology program at LSCO offers a flexible format with a fully stackable credential system. Beginning with the Basic Electrician Helper Certificate, students can progress from dual credit classes to the Intermediate Electrician Academy Certificate with NCCER certification, ultimately earning an Electrical Technology Associate of Applied Science degree.
This program emphasizes hands-on local training, where students learn essential skills in electrical safety and tools, residential wiring, commercial wiring, and transformer repair and maintenance.
Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories. The electrical technology field offers exceptional career opportunities, particularly in the Southeast Texas area. With around $80 billion in announced and proposed industrial projects along the Sabine-Nechess Waterways, electricians will play an integral part in supporting local industrial growth.
