LSCO Real Estate Program Offers Online Path to Salesperson License in Six Courses

October 14, 2025

The Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) Real Estate program is designed to prepare students to enter various sectors of the real estate profession. This program is flexible, offering all classes online so individuals have the option to complete their education remotely. Students can even launch their career prior to completing the degree plan after completing only a few required courses.

The Real Estate program offers one certificate and one associate degree; course curriculum is tailored to students who want to take the business and technical courses needed to enter the workforce and begin careers with the option to take the academic courses associated with a four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree later. Upon completion of only six required courses, students in the program meet the requirements to take the Texas Real Estate Salesperson’s License Examination and become licensed with the sponsorship of a licensed real estate broker.

The Real Estate Management Certificate program prepares individuals for careers as property, real estate, or community association managers as business professionals, supervisors, managers or small business owners. This is a single semester, 18 credit hour program that leads into the Business Management Associate of Applied Science degree program.

The Real Estate Management Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree prepares students for careers as property, real estate, or community association managers as business professionals, supervisors, managers or small business owners. This degree prepares students for the Real Estate Broker’s License, which is required for any individual looking to open their own real estate office in the future. This is a full two-year, four semesters, 60 credit hour program.

The real estate profession opens doors to impressive career opportunities. This program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform well in this field. Real estate program director Martha Morian is excited to welcome new and returning students for the 2025-2026 school year.

“Since the start of the Real Estate program in 2022, we have continued to see a steady enrollment of people looking to start careers as licensed real estate agents in Texas,” said Morian. “We look forward to continuing to grow our program and hopefully one day providing not only our graduates but other licensed realtors with additional learning opportunities.”

Applications for enrollment are now open for next semester. Prospective students can begin the admissions process now by applying through ApplyTexas.
