TSUS Polk County Center Welcomes New Director, Kathryn Pedigo

 Kathryn PedigoKathryn Pedigo serves as the new TSUS Polk County Center Director, bringing extensive experience and a deep commitment to student achievement and post-secondary planning. As a long-standing member of the Livingston community, Ms. Pedigo’s roots in the area run deep. Growing up, her family spent weekends on Lake Livingston, and in 1998 she became a full-time resident of Livingston.

Throughout her career in education, Kathryn has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, counselor, academic advisor, and most recently, College, Career, and Military Readiness Coordinator. In this capacity, she developed a strong passion for supporting students in their pursuit of post-secondary opportunities. Her expertise includes career and technical education programs, college admission and testing requirements, career assessments, and regional workforce needs across the Deep East Texas area. She is an active member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Career & Technical Association of Texas.

Ms. Pedigo holds a Principal Certification from Lamar University, a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

While Kathryn is dedicated to her professional responsibilities, she considers her most meaningful role to be that of mother to her three sons, all of whom were raised and educated in Livingston ISD. Jack Pedigo currently serves as a News Producer for MSNBC in Los Angeles; Sam Pedigo is a freshman at Baylor University majoring in Sports Marketing; and Henry Pedigo is a junior at Livingston High School, where he is a member of the golf team and has a strong passion for wildlife and outdoor activities.

In her personal time, Kathryn enjoys sunsets, boating, relaxing on the beach, and making memories with family and friends.

Ms. Pedigo is excited to lead the TSUS Polk County Center into a new chapter of growth and success in serving the community's educational needs.
