SpawGlass Endows Scholarship Named for Shahans

SpawGlass Scholarship

At his last Boot Scootin’ as president of Lamar State College – Orange, Dr. Michael Shahan and his wife, Bridget were honored by a longtime business partner of the college with the initial contribution to an endowed scholarship that will be established in their names.  The scholarship will be managed by the Lamar State College – Orange Foundation.

Jerry Vandervoort, Regional Operations Manager for SpawGlass joined Chairman Jack Smith of the LSC-O Foundation in surprising the Shahans during the 7th annual Foundation fundraiser Saturday, April 14, at the Brown Estate.

Vandervoort expressed his appreciation for both Michael and Bridget , saying the couple have been leading the decades of growth and success at Lamar State College – Orange.

President Shahan humbly accepted the honor, noting that he hopes to see LSC-O continue to succeed.

SpawGlass has been a business partner of the college for many years, heading up multiple projects on campus, from hurricane recovery to new construction.

s always, the annual Boot Scootin’ event was successful in raising more than $50,000 for scholarships for Lamar State College – Orange students.
