DANB Certification

The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) is the nationally recognized certification agency for dental assistants. Lamar State College-Orange has partnered with Pearson VUE to administer the DANB exams. Application forms and study guides are available through DANB's web site at http://www.danb.org.

DANB reviews each application and sends an admission letter to authorized candidates. Eligibility criteria are determined by DANB policies and procedures. The admission letter specifies a 60-day period in which the candidate must take the exam. The exam can then be scheduled via the web at www.pearsonvue.com, or through a call center agent at 1-800-525-2586.

Cost of the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam is $300. Study guides are available by calling 1-800-FOR-DANB or can be ordered on line at www.danb.org. The DANB Review can be purchased for $40. The Glossary of Dental Assisting Terms can be purchased for $25 and Task Analysis: 9th Edition for $15.
