The Dental Assisting Program was established in fall 2001. It is a successful program which meets all student needs to become qualified dental assistants. The program is accredited by the American Dental Association. This is the only program in this area that follows the American Dental Association's guidelines. Completion of this program enables students to choose their positions in the field of dentistry. Students are educated and trained in many aspects of the profession such as insurance clerk, receptionist, hygiene coordinator, laboratory assistant, sales representative for dental suppliers and assisting in all specialties of dentistry.

The Lamar State College-Orange Dental Assisting Program is extremely proud of its new facilities which were completed in fall 2006. Please feel free to schedule a tour of Dental Assisting's new lecture and lab spaces located in the Green Avenue Building of LSC-O.
